Deaconess Ministry

Deaconess Joan Demery

DEACONESSES ARE SERVANTS:   Our Deaconess Ministry is the group of women who are baptized believers chosen and installed to be servants in the church with the primary role of assisting the deacons and the pastor in the care and visitation of church members and administering the ordinances of baptism and communion.  Deaconesses serve to help model, mentor and develop other women of the church to also become more spiritually mature godly women equipped and ready to serve.
Additionally, deaconesses give special care and attention with visitations particularly to members of the church who are bereaved, sick, shut-in, elderly, or disabled in conjunction with the deacons.  The entire congregation is grouped into a number of districts.  Each church member upon joining is assigned to a specific church district and a Deacon District Leader.  Deaconesses serve as assistants and supporters of the District Leaders as well.
